What capture modes are compatible?
You can view your GoPro photos on virtually any smartphone or tablet. However, GoPro cameras can capture pro-level video resolutions and frame rates that most mobile devices aren't powerful enough to support. Because of this, only videos shot in select modes can be copied and played back in full resolution on most smartphones and tablets. See the chart above to learn what modes are compatible with your mobile device.
Shoot to share.
If you want to capture video specifically to play back and share instantly on your smartphone or tablet, shoot in a lower resolution/lower frame rate video mode such as 720p60 fps. These video modes are supported by a wide range of mobile devices, and their smaller file size means they're easy to share via text or email, and upload quickly to sites like Facebook and YouTube™. Plus, they look great played back on your smartphone or tablet.
1iPod Touch® features limited compatibility with the GoPro App and does not support live preview for HERO4 and HERO Session cameras.
24K and Protune™ video files are not supported.
